I visited a big yard sale with friends hoping to find affordable computer components for my room setup. I found a decent one and bought it for $15. After installing it on my monitor, keyboard, and mouse, it booted up normally and displayed the XP loading screen for about 30 seconds before going black. I’m curious about the HDD and wondering if removing it to install this one would help.

Insert the HDD into your machine and check it through your operating system. This is the method I used when recovering data from laptops.

Place the CPU carefully inside your PC. Remove any additional drives to prevent potential infections if a problematic drive is present.

It's an older hard drive, and it doesn't work with my system—tried it already.

It seems you're questioning the difficulty of English. Would you like to discuss it further?
