From what I've seen, playing FH 3 isn't very engaging, especially compared to FH 4. That's just my view.

Kind of a tossup for me. IMO 3's map is better, but the seasons from 4 are nice. Car selection in 4 is great, but just like any Horizon it's really best enjoyed with friends. Both have their fair share of problems, such as the engine sounds in both being horrible and various little problems with cars bother people like me (like little texturing issues and the fact that a rather disturbing number of cars have gauges that don't read properly).

Do trees appear visibly damaged in the game FH4, or is this a personal perception?

I wouldn't be the best at judging that, to be honest. FH4 struggles with the 1050Ti, so my choices are to go with medium/high settings without AA, run MSAA and destroy options, or lock it down to 30FPS for a smoother experience.

I think FH4 is quite repetitive. It seems like I'm often in the same spots or just arrived recently. The map from FH3 really helps. Also, the events and the in-game excitement were really enjoyable for me.

It has fewer Volvos than FH3, that's probably the reason. Around 80% of the time they didn’t get my money. But seriously, I wasn’t impressed with FH4’s features. I was already driving FH3 to the end, and it didn’t generate much excitement. It felt like just another update with a bigger slot machine. The changes don’t really matter, and since seasons don’t change much, I didn’t care too much either. FH3 is likely much more affordable now, making it a much better deal overall. It’s a solid game.

I just completed NFS payback and am now looking for more arcade racing games; I don't mind small issues.

It doesn't seem to be the case, even though Reddit talks about the FH4 map being bigger.
