Forza 6 is scheduled for release on PC later this year.
With GDC starting today, attention focuses on Microsoft as they showcase DirectX 12 features and its work on Windows 10 and Xbox One. Insights from Worlds Factory suggest Microsoft could be planning a PC adaptation of the Forza series. Initially introduced at GDC 2014 with a demo of Forza Motorsport 5 running smoothly on PC, the presentation highlighted progress in DirectX: Evolving Microsoft’s Graphics Platform. Chris Tector, software architect at Turn 10 studios, shared that developing the game took just four months with a small team, expressing enthusiasm about console-style development moving to PC via D3D12. Earlier claims about a Forza PC version were later clarified, emphasizing no existing games would be ported but a new title tailored for the platform. The announcement of Forza 6 with the new Ford car at the end was exclusive to Xbox One, though it seemed significant enough to warrant a GDC session. Chris Tector noted that while there’s excitement, nothing major was announced about Forza. The article linked in the update provides further context, and additional proof can be found online.
