It's a style, you can't replicate a style. It's similar to claiming every first-person shooter imitated Doom, or that Doom borrowed from trends before. At most, I'd classify it as an homage.

They aren't criticizing the mafia/impostor/werewolf theme, but they claim to have directly borrowed the map, terms, and gameplay from Among Us. It feels more like adapting DOOM's layout, tweaking a few elements, changing colors, adding 3D effects, and then presenting it as a new concept. Timing and public perception seem to have influenced how much focus was given to this idea compared to similar projects. Epic's recent legal issues and questionable actions likely played a part. While "impostor" is a broad term, the map's similarity to a specific game makes it harder to dismiss as mere chance.
