Whenever I'm playing Fortnite, my computer frequently freezes and subsequently crashes, and despite numerous driver updates, power setting adjustments, or other troubleshooting methods, it continues to freeze my PC or cause the game to crash.

Considering the circumstances, I suspect your power supply unit is the source of the problem. It likely isn’t delivering sufficient wattage when you're running demanding games. Given its age—approximately 5-6 years—it might only just meet the minimum requirements for your system today. Because it’s now aged, it could be underperforming and insufficient for your needs.

If it fails to supply adequate power, it may result in voltage drops or fluctuations on your motherboard as your processor demands more energy, leading to reduced voltage levels. This can ultimately cause your computer to crash. Furthermore, it poses a risk of damaging other parts within your system.
