Hi, I've been considering organizing my hard drive which currently has Windows installed but uses an SSD for the operating system. I want to format it as if nothing had changed, though I have most of my essential files on it. I plan to move all my games and less demanding applications to my new SSD, while keeping important data on the existing 480GB drive. Since my drive is mostly over 500GB, transferring everything to a USB stick might be a good idea.

With a sufficiently large USB drive, it shouldn't be a problem. Copy the data onto the USB and then transfer it back once you format it, though it may take some time.

Big USB drives aren’t usually the best choice since they don’t last very long. A smarter option could be purchasing a bigger HDD and SSD. A 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD would just be $50.
