My current location at 3189 doesn’t match Windows well, so I’m searching for a solid Linux option. Mostly I use it for YouTube, browsing Reddit, and Word (I’m okay with LibreOffice or OpenOffice). I don’t need anything advanced—just a bit faster performance. I have a Pentium N4200, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 128GB SSD, and Intel HD Graphics 505.

Give Lubuntu a try. It’s extremely lightweight.

I really like Xubuntu. It appears more attractive, remains lightweight, and is simpler to operate.

Xubuntu seems to fit your needs better. MX Linux has some positive points too, but it might not be the best match for you. Which one do you think works best for your situation?

Mx Linux is excellent, but since you're just starting with Linux, Xubuntu or Lubuntu would be better for a smoother experience. Mx is still a solid choice.

You haven’t seen your USB listed in the boot settings, are you sure Rufus worked correctly?

Did you create it using ISO mode or DD mode? A few Linux ISO files must be generated in DD mode to start up.

It appears to be ISO mode. However, I was able to resolve it by manually inserting the boot choice in the BIOS settings, which seems to have fixed the issue.

I’d also check out options similar to Kubuntu. It doesn’t appear to perform significantly worse than Xubuntu on my E4310, yet it looks much more appealing.
