Hi everyone, I'm planning to assemble three PCs using three CPUs. My goals are to set up an unraid NAS server, some docking stations, virtual machines, a budget gaming rig, and a dedicated machine for copying DVDs to the NAS. Right now I'm considering i7-2600 Gaming, i5-2400, and i3-3220. None of these are top-tier, but I can't afford better replacements yet. I'm using them as best as possible in the meantime. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
If you're aiming for newer titles, change the gaming and server CPUs accordingly. Otherwise, this approach works best.

The situation might be good for around five viewers. These aren't limited to 1080p since they'll appear on laptops. Virtual machines—PiHole—are in use, but other details are still unclear.
i7 processors are better for virtual machines due to their Hyper-Threading features. It’s really tough to run VMs without the additional four threads. I know it, working with a Core i5-4440 at 3.20Ghz with four cores and four threads is quite slow for virtual environments. Have a great day!
