I currently run a Ryzen 5 2600 on a B350M board with four RAM slots. I’m using one Trident Z 3000mhz stick now. Even with used ones, they’re still costly around $100 each. A kit of two 8GB DDR4 2666mhz sticks is about $48. An 8GB DDR4 3000mhz stick would be roughly $60. The question is whether switching to a 4x4GB DDR4 2666mhz setup would noticeably improve performance compared to the 3000mhz version. The higher speed kit should offer better latency and bandwidth, especially for gaming or heavy workloads.
