With refunds available now, pre-ordering games still makes sense for guaranteed access.

I don’t usually place orders myself. (it’s hard to tell if something is good or bad)

It's not just about the danger—it's the poor habit of hiding content behind a pre-order barrier and splitting the gaming community.

Be careful with games you're not completely confident about. I pre-ordered the Witcher 3 once and was thrilled it turned out perfectly. For Fallout 4, you really shouldn’t—its gameplay could be very different.

Refunds aren't available for pre-orders unless placed within 14 days prior to the game's release, as the policy covers purchases made in the final 14 days with under 2 hours of playtime.
