You're aiming for a high-performance setup with a 5950x or larger CPU, targeting at least 4.6GHz, and optimizing for smooth gameplay and VR performance. Consider a Ryzen 9 7950X or similar high-end processor paired with the RTX 3080 Super X 5900X/5950X with water cooling. Your usage involves heavy gaming, VR at 120Hz, and multiple browser tabs—so prioritize stability, low latency, and solid multitasking. Ensure your case supports efficient airflow and cooling for sustained performance.

Yes, he creates games too, which means the additional cores will enhance performance. The 5950x also excels in handling multiple tasks efficiently.

VR performance depends on your setup and tuning. The 5900X offers better core counts (-4) which can help, but higher overclocking also relies on cooling, stability, and driver optimization. Using a valve index can improve efficiency, but don’t expect significant gains just from the cores alone.

Hi there, recently upgraded to 2700 to 5900x. No noticable difference on Valve Index so far. My 5900x gets 4,55ghz on 1.2v so even without adequate cooling 5900 would do more than enough on gaming.

Your watercooling is [size] units from [brand]. The temperature at 4.55ghz is [temp], and it's set up either manually or via PBO.
