For OEM Windows, you're limited to using the key just once. Each installation creates a fresh build and doesn't reuse previous versions. All new setups start from scratch.

Used my Windows 7 key from my old Dell for some time, after several reformats and a fresh installation, it should work fine.

I switched to a fresh setup from Dell and the Windows function remains functional. It’s unclear if certain keys can be restricted to particular motherboards.

It's technically feasible, though you might need to contact the activation hotline. Legally, it's not permitted—your EULA, which you accepted during your first use of the license, explicitly forbids this action.

OEM code equals one motherboard. Retail code can be kept with you, but avoid using it on more than one device simultaneously.
