It seems to be more about stuttering than lag, and it could be caused by several factors. I use a Gsync monitor and run Gsync alongside the game; on 1440p I usually hit around 120fps with Ultra settings, though it can dip sometimes. Without Gsync I experience random screen tears but no stuttering. Have any other games you've noticed similar issues with?

The game doesn't have a sync adjustment option. This system isn't designed for that. It does cause some lag.

Check if it uses an SSD; it could be starting in certain sections.

It's running on a 1TB HDD and it's freezing heavily. The issue gets worse when you shift the camera around—it freezes completely. Not smooth at all.

For consistent 165+fps performance, lower grass quality to high or normal. This is the least optimized option that may lead to dropping frames even with powerful cards.

It seems the problem isn't related to FPS. The game is experiencing stuttering. Can someone help figure out a solution?

Hello, I'm using GTA V stable at 80-90 fps sometimes reaching 100, but I'm facing major stuttering. As soon as I switch the camera, it jumps so much like it's not smoothing properly—it feels like a bunch of clacks. It's really annoying. Anyone know what could be causing this issue? My specs are 1080TI, 7700k, 2560x1440 with g sync at 165 hz.

Latest Nvidia driver 391.24 aims to resolve G-Sync stuttering during alt-tab situations and the transition from windowed to full-screen settings. From my experience with GTAV loading, the application initially runs in windowed mode before switching to full screen, which has resolved most of my tearing and frame-rate drops. Use DDU to reinstall the driver in safe mode – link provided. Then apply 391.24 found at the specified URL; it addresses issues reported by users with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, NVIDIA Freestyle, Media Player Classic, and various gaming setups.
