I’m looking for a balanced setup with solid performance for gaming and streaming. I want something that handles 1440p at 100-120 FPS smoothly, supports Twitch and YT, and can upgrade to a stronger GPU later. A Ryzen 8000 or better would be ideal if it keeps up with gaming frames, and I’m open to a Radeon 7900XT in the future. Streaming at around 30 FPS is fine, and I’m okay with a CPU that doesn’t strain too much.

If you plan to edit, you might consider the 5900x, but the 5800X3D could be a better option with the 7900 xt. If it doesn’t meet your requirements after a week, you should be able to return it.

I use a 5900X and think the 5800X3D, which came out a few months later, usually offers between 10% to 20% more frames per second depending on the games you play. I have no regrets because my 5900X can handle everything you throw at it. The only downside is it doesn’t help with cooking or cleaning. Either option should work for you, and I’d just recommend picking the more affordable one.

Purchase the 5950x used at the same cost or less. It may not outperform a 5900x 5800x3D in certain titles, but unless you focus on games like Factorio that gain from extra cache, a refined 5700x will likely surpass it.

I improved my graphics from a 5900X to a 5800X3D after switching from a Radeon 5700XT to a 6950XT. The 5800X3D offers significantly lower 1% and 0.1% lows, with much smoother frame times compared to the previous model. The performance numbers are similar to what I got with the 5900X, though higher framerates don’t noticeably change the smoothness. For gaming and other demanding tasks like rendering or compiling, the 5900X remains a solid choice.

The stock model feels uninteresting, but a fine-tuned version performs much better. At 3840x2160 resolution, it outperforms the reviews. I favor this over my X3D.
