I haven’t used Steam before, but I built this setup mainly for gaming and have been wanting to get back into it. The Windows part should work with Steam, while the Linux side can handle other things too—gaming is fine either way. It doesn’t really matter which side I use, but the Windows side will be all about games exclusively.

I'm quite active on the Level1techs community. I might have caught a bit of the Linux virus, given how many tech enthusiasts there are. I enjoy playing around with Linux, even though I haven't yet found the ideal distro to replace my current OS. My next main system will definitely be a Linux distribution. It's highly unlikely that any part of Windows 10 has made its way onto my machine—except maybe through KVM.

I possess distinct partitions for Windows 10, Linux, and general storage. ...Windows dedicated solely to gaming.

That's essentially correct. It functions quite well overall, and many users adopt this approach. There are still certain programs lacking direct open-source alternatives. Gaming on Linux is gradually improving but isn't fully established yet. I anticipate that if Vulkan becomes widely embraced by developers, gaming on Linux will have a promising outlook. You're also free to run Windows 10 inside a KVM container on Linux, though it requires robust hardware.

The moment Linux becomes a fully gaming-focused platform alongside its many other impressive features will mark the day Microsoft loses a significant number of users.
