Current AMD releases have shifted focus to newer models like the 5000 series. For gaming and rendering tasks such as V-Ray, the i7-9700K, i9-9900K, and Ryzen 7 3700X still offer solid performance, though you may want to consider the latest offerings for optimal results.

The 5000 line didn’t replace every other chip, so you shouldn’t pay top dollar for a Ryzen 7 3700X. Avoid spending $350 or more on it.

You already have a Z390 motherboard, so it seems smarter to keep Intel. Avoid buying a new AM4 board and pairing it with an older AMD CPU—it wouldn<|pad|> to offer little real improvement.

Sure, I'd just request a 9900K and set it to 5GHz if possible.
