Foolish dragons in Skyrim.
Foolish dragons in Skyrim.
Are you the only one who dislikes dragons in Skyrim? WTF MAN. Whenever they appear at your destination, it throws off your stealth strategy, and those blood dragons are nearly unkillable for my level. They don’t land often, and their fire deals about 60% of my health damage. Then the enemies I tried to sneak past suddenly appear, screaming “YOU WILL REGRET THIS,” completely unaware of the dragon overhead, and they smash me with their clubs, killing me. The worst part is the auto-save is terrible—I often end up three fast travels away from where I was when I died. Any mod suggestions?
Consider lowering the challenge. The fights in Skyrim aren't great no matter what.
They rely on Stamina to soar, at least according to my idea. When I throw a poison arrow that drains their stamina, they fall down right away. Another method: you can make dragons stop by using Unrelenting Shout, which makes them wobble. That’s another of my guesses. I’ve tried it and they land just as fast. Just remember to be close to a flat spot when they’re targeting you—it speeds things up. I might be mistaken, but if anyone knows the truth, don’t say otherwise. I prefer solving things on my own. Feel free to point out any mistakes, but I don’t need alerts about this. Adding Deadlier Combat (mod), plus improved stealth or more realistic lighting, would help. Something that makes sneaking easier and the world feel more authentic. Most dragons are nesting now, so you can sneak at them from a distance if you spot them early.
I can share a tip without spoiling the experience. It's a shout that helps dragons take off, a technique Vitalius hasn't uncovered yet. Since he doesn't want to reveal too much, I won't quote or tag him here. You can find more details in the link provided.
However, when they drop, I still struggle to defeat them because it usually requires 10-15 hits, while they can be down in just 2. It's really frustrating even when I manage to take them out. Plus, once I have a full inventory due to the heavy bones, it can be quite tiring.
