In the past 24 hours I've been struggling to install fresh Windows 10 on my NVMe drive. I'm having trouble understanding why this is happening. My motherboard is an ASUS Prime 570, and it has a Kingston 1TB NVMe SSD. I've tried various cloning tools, but none worked. I've encountered several issues: the drive type is MBR, so Windows can't install; the GPT type prevents installation; sometimes Windows can't find or create a partition; and there are frequent BSODs with errors like 0xc00000f and 0xc00000ce. Many times I've lost my mind and couldn't remember everything before having to start over. I almost lost all my data because I believed a clean NVMe would fix it, but it didn't. The latest BIOS doesn't recognize the drive either.
Two potential issues come to mind: one is that the installation isn’t correct, especially regarding formatting. Another is that the NVMe section in your motherboard’s BIOS got damaged—previously, hard drive and floppy drive sections were connected incorrectly, making the NVMe area unstable. This can lead to fragility in that part of the system.
I recently needed to replace my NVME hard drive. The Windows media installer is a tool that will copy an entire fresh Windows installation onto a flash drive. It’s best to remove all other drives from your PC except the NVME, enter the BIOS, and boot from the flash drive. Then the setup wizard will prompt you to pick a drive, so choose the NVME and install Windows there. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software.../windows10 This link provides instructions for making installation media.
