I changed my DFI lanparty x58 motherboard because it wasn’t compatible with my rx470. It didn’t work at first but gave me a fresh BIOS—normally the overclock settings were fixed in the Arma BIOS before. Now I can’t boot into Windows. I attempted to format it using a Windows setup USB, but it froze randomly during installation. I have an old Arma BIOS backup and another DFI BIOS to try, but without opening Windows I can’t install new BIOS with the previous tool. Online advice suggests I need a bootable USB for BIOS updates. I made one with Rufus, placed the BIOS file and an EXE program (I don’t remember its name). It started in DOS mode but didn’t update the BIOS. Do I need a separate DOS BIOS update utility? I’ve tried several for Phoenix Award BIOS and none worked. Please help.

Occasionally when facing boot issues with a DFI, select "Optimized settings," allow it to save using F10, then restart. Once that’s done, you should be able to proceed normally if everything is set up correctly.

I performed that several times. Restored the BIOS settings again. At startup it works fine, but Windows occasionally crashes. This didn’t occur with previous versions, so I’m trying the earlier one.

It seems the device you mentioned might be faulty. To restore it, you’ll likely need an external flasher, as I do sometimes. Even then, there’s a chance the BIOS chip itself is damaged.

The required tool matches the NANO BIOS Programmer + SOP8 Adapter for BIOS repairing. It’s compatible with 32-bit operating systems only; no 64-bit version is available in my knowledge.

Hey there, thanks for your message. I’m not sure if the board you’re talking about has a replaceable BIOS chip or if purchasing from eBay is an option for you. I was hoping for a USB boot device that could update the BIOS.
