Flushdns clears the DNS cache on your PC, which is safe. The second command I think was netsh winsock reset—it will restore the Winsock catalog to its default setting, also safe. Based on my understanding, it only affects the Winsock catalog and won’t change network settings.

It just makes the connection go in and out repeatedly, forcing it to restart if something gets stuck. No changes are made to any preferences. Using `netcfg -d` gives you a complete reset of your network settings.
