Hello,

I recently performed a fresh installation of Windows 8.1 on my older computer – upgrading from Windows 7 – and I’m experiencing some problems when playing games like Burnout Paradise, COD 4: Modern Warfare, and Team Fortress 2. The frame rate consistently drops to around 3-5 FPS. Before the upgrade, everything ran smoothly at 30-60 FPS in Windows 7.

Here are my computer specifications: AMD A6-7400K processor with a Radeon R5 graphics card, 4GB of RAM, and DirectX 11 support on a 64-bit version of Windows 8.1. I’ve already tried the following troubleshooting steps without success: restarting my PC, cleaning out my temporary folders, running the games in Safe Mode, scanning for malware, updating all device drivers to their latest versions, using the System Maintenance troubleshooter, performing a clean boot, and completely uninstalling and reinstalling my graphics card driver.

I’m hoping someone can offer suggestions on how to resolve this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
