I’m able to play games smoothly on my computer. I own an Omen laptop equipped with a 960M 2GB graphics card and an i5-6300HQ processor, allowing me to consistently achieve around 60 frames per second. However, recently, when playing games, the frame rate drops to 20-15 FPS, and my CPU usage decreases to 30%. What steps can I take to resolve this issue?

It might be possible to disable energy-saving settings within the system’s basic input/output system (BIOS). The Omen laptop line debuted in 2016.

Reduced frame rates can occur with limited memory if your system has insufficient RAM; however, 16GB is generally sufficient for all games. If this is the case, RAM is likely not the problem.
