Fixes Windows 8 issues with starting up healthy drives.
Hi, a few days back I replaced my old SSD with a larger one because it was running out of space. Instead of making a clone, I installed a brand new Windows installation while disconnecting all other drives. After setup, I began installing the necessary drivers. Once the first driver was installed, I had to restart the system. When I tried to boot up, Windows attempted to repair a healthy drive that wasn’t there before, which surprised me but I let it handle itself. After booting, many files on the old drive were missing or corrupted. This was frustrating. Now I’m attempting to start the computer using the big 1TB drive where everything is stored—my personal files, schoolwork, hobbies, and more. If the new drive works, Windows won’t boot without first fixing it, but I don’t want it to damage anything. I’m wondering if there’s a way to prevent Windows from repairing drives at startup so it can simply read the data instead?
