I finally acquired a Lenovo desktop from work. It wasn't perfect. Memtest86 detected some issues during one of the two passes with a G.Skill RAM stick in the Lenovo unit—fewer errors than on my own machine. It seems slower RAM might be the cause. After moving the Lenovo RAM into my PC, it passed all tests cleanly after four cycles. That specific RAM is an 8GB 1Rx8 PC4-21300 with Hynix Single Sided, 2666HMZ/19-19-19-43. I'm wondering if this confirms the problem was with my existing RAM or if I should verify it at higher speeds. In short, I want to be confident my CPU and board are okay—should I upgrade my RAM?
