Hi there! Sorry if that question is a bit off-topic. I just posted an image on imgur.com, copied my link to it, and pasted it into a forum thread. After a while, I clicked back to the site where my picture was shared and saw these numbers in the top left: "602 Views • 5d". So here is what I wonder. How do they count views? Does one person hitting the link count as one view on the stats page?

It wouldn't matter what other sites say about it. Imgur can't watch what happens outside their site unless they let you put code in your pictures and run them there, which I don't think any forum would do because that's too easy to use for bad guys. You have to make sure the images you upload are public so people on the open side of Imgur can see them through normal browsing. Those numbers probably show how many real people saw something while using the website itself.

I'm not on imgur yet. To do this, I open it up, click "new post" in the top left corner, then pick an image and upload it. After that, right-click the picture and choose "open in a new tab," where I copy the link to share with other content like https://i.imgur......jpg (or .png etc.). Then, I carefully move that link to one of our forum chats on various places there. I thought maybe I could just see how many views my stuff gets by people from those forums.😢 But even if you told me what you did, I still can't live with it. I'll need to get drunk
