My gaming experience with titles like Grand Theft Auto and Battlefield is frustrating due to severe performance issues, frequently leading to system freezes and visual distortions. I’ve noticed numerous other users with comparable hardware experiencing significantly better performance.

HARDWARE DETAILS:
graphics card: GTX 1660 Super
processor: Ryzen 2200G
memory: 8GB
power supply unit: 500W
motherboard: Asus Prime A320M-K
storage: Two 1TB hard drives

I’d like to suggest a few improvements regarding computer performance. Consider installing a solid-state drive and installing your operating system on it, even if it’s a small and affordable model. Alternatively, you could increase your system's memory by twice its current amount, or aggressively eliminate unnecessary background applications to reclaim valuable space. (If you’re currently using a single memory module, pairing two identical ones will significantly enhance dual-channel performance). Furthermore, be cautious when encountering recommendations—especially those found on YouTube—regarding specific hardware. Many reviewers are incentivized to promote products through video monetization and paid sponsorships, potentially influencing their demonstrations with hidden settings and covert manipulations in order to present a desired outcome.

I have a few suggestions regarding computer upgrades.

Install a solid-state drive and install your operating system on it, even if it’s small and inexpensive. Alternatively, increase your memory by twice its current amount or aggressively disable unnecessary background programs to improve performance. (If you’re using a single stick of RAM, pairing matched sticks is essential for dual-channel functionality.)

Furthermore, be cautious when considering advice from online video reviewers—many are incentivized by sponsorships and paid endorsements to promote specific products. It’s difficult to determine if their results are genuine or influenced by hidden settings and manipulations designed to make your own hardware appear inferior. This is common practice.

Could you determine whether your A320 motherboard supports XMP profiles for RAM, or are you limited to running at the default speeds? Ryzen processors benefit from fast memory.

I’ve purchased a replacement computer case, believing my frame rate dips were due to excessive heat. I've also ordered a 240GB solid-state drive, which is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. My next purchase will be memory, as you suggested, and I suspect my motherboard doesn't support XMP profiles. Despite observing that my RAM utilization isn’t high, even when playing games like Grand Theft Auto – not nearly fully utilized – the game still experiences lag in numerous locations. I’ve reduced the resolution to improve performance, but it's still sluggish, particularly when approaching other players. Furthermore, Battlefield is practically unplayable, even though I've witnessed videos featuring weaker hardware running smoothly.

Your system memory – is it two 4GB sticks or a single 8GB stick? What’s its speed?
Many of these games demand significant processing power from the CPU, and a four-core/threaded processor may struggle. When selecting RAM for Ryzen systems, careful consideration is essential.

I'm considering purchasing 2x4GB of memory, and I believe it’s a good value due to my gradual upgrade process with a pre-built computer. Visually, it appears somewhat inexpensive. I’m confident it's DDR4 compatibility – my motherboard requires that standard. Could you recommend some suitable memory options?
