My PC has an RX 580 installed in a notably aged system (anticipating Zen 2 compatibility).
Processor – Q8300
Graphics Card – RX 580 Red Devil Golden Sample 8GB
Memory – 4GB DDR3
Motherboard – Gigabyte GA-G41M-Combo Dual BIOS
Power Supply Unit – Corsair CX 650
When I attempt to play Darksiders Warmastered Edition, I consistently achieve only 15 frames per second at 1080p and 720p with the lowest available settings, and even when utilizing maximum settings.
I ran the game in windowed mode, and monitoring task manager displayed a GPU utilization of 15% and a CPU usage of 25%, while RAM consumption reached 2.4 GB out of the available 4GB. My operating system is Windows 10.
CPU temperatures averaged between 45 and 50 degrees Celsius, while GPU temperatures were similarly measured at 45 to 55 degrees Celsius. I’m unable to determine the root cause of this performance issue.

It’s important to acknowledge that the RX 580 can deliver significantly improved results. Your current setup is substantially limiting its potential. If your hardware matches the specifications showcased in those video benchmarks, then the comparison is fair; otherwise, it’s not a comparable assessment.

Is your processor limiting your performance? What graphics card did you previously use, and was it an Nvidia product?

Previously, this particular construction lacked a separate graphics card and utilized the motherboard’s integrated visuals. It was tested with *Resident Evil 6* at 720p, with every setting configured to its highest level. I achieved approximately 70 frames per second, yet even at 1080p resolution, I observed others attaining frame rates exceeding 300 on an RX580 card, while my system remained limited to 70-77 FPS. Despite this, CPU and RAM usage remained within acceptable parameters, and temperatures did not exceed 50%. Furthermore, I have installed the most current version of the AMD driver – 19.1.1 – directly from their official website.

The performance of your processor is limiting you… what graphics card did you previously use, was it a Nvidia one?
Before this current setup, your computer never utilized a separate graphics card; instead, it relied on the motherboard’s integrated graphics. You tested *Resident Evil 6* at 720p with all settings at their maximum, achieving approximately 70 frames per second. Even when running at 1080p, others with an RX570 consistently attained over 300 FPS, yet your system only reaches 70-77 FPS at 720p. Your CPU and RAM usage remained consistently low, and temperatures did not exceed 50%—indicating no issues with those components. You have also installed the most recent 19.1.1 driver from the AMD website.

It’s important to acknowledge that the RX 580 can deliver significantly higher performance. Your current setup is substantially limiting its potential. If your equipment matches the specifications used in those video benchmarks, then the comparison is valid; otherwise, it’s not a fair assessment.
