My HP OMEN 15-dc0xxx laptop, running Windows 10 Home with an Intel Core i7-8750H processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, is experiencing stuttering in Dota 2 at low settings, particularly during team fights and large spawns. Despite capping the FPS to 144 and enabling VSync, the issue persists. HP support suggests the problem lies with the game itself, but I suspect a hardware limitation due to the laptop's specifications and the graphically intensive nature of Dota 2. The CPU and GPU usage during gameplay is high, indicating a potential bottleneck.

Rewriting text using different words:

Here’s a revised version of the text, employing varied vocabulary and sentence structure for clarity and flow.

To optimize your gaming experience, consider upgrading your RAM. Currently, you're likely using a single stick of memory, which can limit performance. Switching to a dual-channel kit – ideally 2x8GB or 2x16GB – will significantly improve speeds by allowing the processor and memory to work together more efficiently.

If you have a single stick of RAM currently, it’s best to purchase a new dual-channel kit. Adding a second stick of RAM is possible but carries some risk: different kits from the same brand can still cause issues, resulting in freezing, stuttering, or even blue screen errors (BSODs).

If you decide to add a single additional 16GB stick, remember that compatibility isn’t guaranteed; it depends on the specific kit you purchase. It's always recommended to buy a pre-configured dual-channel kit for optimal performance and reliability. A dual-channel setup is significantly better than a single channel configuration for gaming.

Rewrite text using different words. Return ONLY the rewritten text. No commentary. No explanations.

To improve your gaming setup, consider upgrading your RAM. Currently, you have a single 16GB stick, which isn't optimal for modern games. Switching to a dual-channel kit – ideally 2x8GB or 2x16GB – will significantly boost performance because the CPU and memory can work together more efficiently.

A dual-channel setup allows your processor to access data faster, reducing bottlenecks and improving overall system responsiveness. However, adding an extra single stick of RAM might be risky due to potential compatibility issues between different RAM kits. This could lead to problems like freezing, stuttering, or even blue screens (BSODs).

If you opt for a dual-channel kit, ensure it's a matched pair with the same specifications – ideally 2x8GB or 2x16GB – and purchased from a reputable source. While some brands offer compatible kits, there’s no guarantee of stability, as different RAM kits can still cause issues even if they are from the same manufacturer. It’s best to sell your existing single stick and invest in a new dual-channel kit for a more reliable solution.

What kind of internet connection are you using? I play dota 2 too and this seems connection related.
I often experience same kind of lag when my internet speed drops.
Switching API can also help if it's really pc related.

Just changing the ram alone will fix the problem?

It will fix your lows and overall average fps.
But you could have other issues, such as your internet connection, as noted by

Should I get a 16GB Ram or 16GB Kit (2x8GB) Ram?
