My system consists of an i5-8400, 16GB DDR4 (2133MHz), Asus GTX 1060 dual 6GB, a 600W PSU, and an EVO 970 Plus 1TB with Noctua NS-D15 cooling for the CPU. However, when running Modern Warfare 2019, I've encountered several issues including stuttering at startup (and in certain missions like the London terror attack) where it freezes briefly (1-2 seconds). The CPU consistently operates between 50-70% across all cores, occasionally throttling to 100%. The graphics card usage fluctuates from 99% to 60-70%. GPU temperature during gameplay ranges from 68-72°C, while the CPU temperature remains between 53-56°C (attributed to the Noctua cooler). Could the game be attempting to shift processing load from the graphics card to the CPU?

This text discusses common issues with computer processors (CPUs) and their impact on gaming performance. Many users report consistently high CPU usage, often exceeding 90%, particularly in demanding games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This high utilization frequently leads to stuttering and a degraded gaming experience. The video demonstrates this issue with a similar-specied CPU, highlighting that while a powerful CPU is beneficial for smoother gameplay, excessive use can actually *decrease* performance due to the system struggling to keep up. The speaker emphasizes the importance of a strong enough CPU for demanding titles like COD: Modern Warfare, suggesting that a high CPU usage indicates a potential bottleneck and may necessitate an upgrade.

Funny thing I don't even OC. It's runs a Asus Z370-p motherboard.
How long before the CPU dies do you think? It's from August 2018.
So what should I go with i7 9700k or 9900k? MB can handle both. And can I keep my PSU? Since I don't oc ?

The Intel Core i9-9900K is significantly superior to the i7-9700K in terms of processing power, primarily due to its higher thread count and faster clock speed. While both CPUs share a similar architecture, the 9900K’s enhanced specifications translate to noticeably better performance in demanding applications that can fully utilize multiple cores. Benchmarks confirm minimal difference between the two processors, with the exception of the i9-9900k having significantly more threads and a much faster 64 core count.
