For users who have applied all updates and still don’t see the Windows 10 icon in the taskbar, here’s how to fix it:
1) Ensure you’ve installed KB3035583.
2) Download the file from the provided link.
3) Launch an elevated Command Prompt.
4) Navigate to the folder where ReserveWin10.cmd is located (e.g., C:\Users\YourName\Downloads).
5) Execute the command and the icon should appear on the taskbar.
Good luck!

From the Microsoft forum page on Windows 10 upgrade, the compatibility app can take between 10 to 30 minutes. It will send ongoing status updates while it works. Stay calm; if it loops forever, your system may lack required updates. You also need Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 Update installed, along with specific KB numbers for each version.

This might resolve the loop from the provided link. The original condition wasn't correctly checking the error level. Adjusting the logic helped the process continue smoothly.

I located the solution in the command file provided. A fix was posted on the forum link: adjust the registry value for UpgEx and verify it. If successful, run the registry change and restart schtasks.
