I downloaded some files that were about 5 gigabytes big, but they got messed up during the download. Even though the data is broken in the system, it's still there and I want to get rid of it because my hard drive was 120 gigabytes total. How do I delete this really bad file?

You go to C:\Users\YourUserName\Downloads, which is where files usually end up. Then you can find the file you want to delete; it should match what your browser saw when you downloaded something (usually a bad file won't have any connection set yet, so they are easy to tell apart). There is also a Shortcut Ctrl+J in Edge that lets you see the exact filename and where to download again.

You go to your Downloads folder by typing C:\Users\YourUserName\Downloads into the computer. Once you get there, look for files that match what your browser saved when it downloaded something. Most often, a broken file doesn't know how to open itself, so you can spot it easily because it has no special link attached. If you want to see exactly which file name it is or where to save another one, press the Ctrl key and then J on your keyboard while using Microsoft Edge.

that is wrong. Mega copies its downloaded file into the computer's system folder instead of using the browser's own files. It also gives the file a random name instead of following normal naming rules. This makes it behave differently than usual downloads.

What is Mega? Some messy tool you might pick up? Don't worry about it, just keep in mind it's cloud storage, check out how the docs look—it seems like a pirate paradise except things aren't working so perfectly. Have fun getting your files corrupted.

Mega.nz is a safe place for everyone, and the big bad viruses are usually gone after we clean them up. If you see something weird on Mega that looks like a virus, just tell us so we can take care of it right away.

To find large files on your computer, use WindiStat. Then run a malware scan to check your system for threats.
