Hey everyone, GTA V keeps crashing on my PC. I’ve tried everything to fix it, but nothing seems to work. I checked the NVIDIA control panel and adjusted the settings, yet it still crashes. I even lowered the GPU and CPU speeds, but that didn’t help. Recently, while playing GTA Online with friends, the game crashed right when we reached the final mission, losing a lot of progress. I’m really frustrated—I’ve spent over 1500 euros on this PC, and it feels worse than using a console. Right now I just want to throw my PC out the window. I’m desperate because all my drivers are up to date, and I reinstalled the game more than 100 times. Please help me!

I believe the system is suggesting you upgrade to more capable games, buddy. Quick question—do you actually have a display that supports 5K resolution? If not, turn it off; it seems pointless and excessive!

I really enjoy this game, not using a DSR resolution in the NVIDIA control panel.

I previously faced a similar issue and tried reinstalling DirectX from within the GTA folder (CommonRedist). It appears to be working now. Check that DX setup in that directory to see if it resolves your problem. Another suggestion is removing d3dcompiler_46.dll and d3dcsx_46.dll, then re-downloading them. This should help. Also, ensure the game runs in windowed borderless mode—fullscreen seems linked to this issue.

I could be overlooking something since I haven’t played GTA 5 on a PC, but my digital experiences with RTA simulations have ended. Why would you attempt a 5k game on a 4k display? It might just be industry jargon for higher resolution. Are there options to enter safe mode or adjust launch settings before starting? If not, you can likely modify the configuration via the NVIDIA experience panel. If you haven’t done so already, try running the game at the lowest possible settings and observe the results. I’m unsure why it would work initially but fail afterward after reinstalls due to damaged files.

I tried the lowest settings and other resolutions, but the game still crashed at 1080p. I ended up running it in 5K resolution since my GPU could manage it better.

Actually, your monitor isn't working properly, which makes this seem quite foolish.

It's adding unnecessary strain on your GPU or CPU without improving performance, causing lower frame rates and limiting further optimization. That's not worth it even if the game doesn't work.
