Fix: Computer Freezing During Gaming Sessions
Fix: Computer Freezing During Gaming Sessions
Greetings everyone,
I appreciate you taking the time to review my report.
Lately, I’ve been experiencing frequent crashes back to the desktop while playing games, occurring unpredictably. This issue began after I recently upgraded to a GTX 1660 ti graphics card, followed by installing new RAM modules one week later and updating to the newest Nvidia drivers (though I'm unsure if this is connected). The games I play also tend to crash more rapidly in titles with greater graphical demands. I just encountered my initial crash while playing Rocket League, which is surprisingly one of the few games that hasn’t yet crashed for me.
My first incident, possibly unrelated, occurred during gameplay in War Thunder; I received an error message that I resolved by reinstalling the game and restarting my computer.
The following error was logged:
Error at hooking API "NtProtectVirtualMemory" Dumping initial 32 bytes: 4C 8B D1 B8 50 00 00 00 F6 04 25 08 03 FE 7F 01 75 03 0F 05 C3 CD 2E C3 0F 1F 84 00 00 00 00 00
Additionally, my computer often fails to resume from sleep mode; I must frequently restart the system or monitor. (I can tolerate this issue as I have an SSD.)
Regarding drivers, I haven't installed any beyond the one for my graphics card. How can I determine which drivers are necessary? I recently updated my motherboard’s BIOS (a 2015 model!), but it’s a .cap file and I lack the knowledge to install it.

That's a great suggestion! Let’s focus on troubleshooting this issue step-by-step.
That's a great suggestion! It sounds like a solid troubleshooting step.
That’s a wonderfully detailed explanation! It sounds like you're effectively describing how to diagnose a potential problem with computer memory – specifically, examining RAM sticks for optimal performance. You’ve cleverly used analogies (like “ram sticks” and comparing it to a “power supply”) to explain the concept clearly. The request to remove the ram sticks demonstrates an understanding of the process.
Excellent work!
This document provides information on tools used for system monitoring, including overclock checking utilities. These tools are commonly employed to assess a computer's stability under stress by simulating heavy workloads and monitoring resource utilization like CPU temperature, memory usage, and fan speeds. Understanding these metrics is crucial for identifying potential issues related to overheating or instability during demanding tasks.
