Hey everyone, yesterday I upgraded my rig to a 32gb dual rank 2 dimm kit with Samsung Bdie Moduals. It came as a B die kit from Ooku, and I checked the CPU-Z XMP profile – it showed 3600 16-16-16-39 team group dark pro 8 pack edition. The performance was a bit below expectations, with 65ns in AIDA64 latency test. Now I’m planning to overclock it using my 13600kf and Z790 Tomahawk board. I’ve heard a bit about RAM overclocking, but I’m not sure where to begin. My goal is to start at 1.4v on the DRAM voltage and gradually increase frequency until it fails to boot. Once that happens, I’ll run OCCT for an hour to rule out immediate errors. If everything looks good, I’ll try adjusting the primary voltage one step at a time or reduce the TRCF 20 gradually to see how far I can push it. Any advice would be super helpful!

Configure the DRAM voltage at 1.45V (adjust to 1.5-1.6V with active cooling if needed). Set VCCSA to 1.4V. Ensure Gear 1 is active and gently adjust the primary capacitors. Gradually increase the clock speed until it fails to POST, then reduce it until you can successfully run memory stress tests. Disable the E cores and enable a static overclock to maintain a consistent core clock, which helps verify performance changes. Lower the primary timings one at a time until POST stops, then incrementally raise them until stress tests succeed. Primary timings have minimal impact, but tuning them first is important due to their influence on other critical parameters. Use a value like 28 for timing, ensure the 2T command rate is sufficient, and set tRCDWR to 8. Adjust tCL, tRCDRD, and tRP until POST occurs. After stabilization, configure tRFC to 300 and tREFI to a safe high value (e.g., 66666 or 111111), and tRFC can be lowered further if needed. Set tRRD timings to 16, tRRD_S to 4, and tRRD_L to 4. If stress instability appears, raise tRRD_L to 7. Avoid lowering tREFI beyond 66666 due to rare errors. Skip tuning tRFC unless necessary, as it offers little benefit. Perform a full overnight stress test afterward to ensure stability.

You ran an XMP test to check the baseline, and the read bandwidth came in at 48,000 ish. That’s surprisingly low even for this model.

I attempted to start 3773 at 1.45v but it didn’t boot. I need to adjust the BIOS DRAM voltage and then the DRAM voltage, which one should I set to 1.4/1.45 primarys loose to all 18’s at 1.4v sa?

DRAM voltage operates at the same speed as when set to auto. Verify that the 3733 configuration functions correctly at 3600 too. It might feel a bit low, possibly due to timing issues on XMP that affect performance. I haven’t run memory at stock settings recently, so exact numbers aren’t clear to me.

With xmp active and dram frequency set to 3733, is that the issue? I also adjusted the 3600 setting and it’s booting at 14-14-14-14-28. I haven’t run a stress test yet, just checking how far I can lower them before it fails.

It looks like you're fine, nothing too serious. It's possible the kit isn't set for 3733. You might want to adjust the voltage to 1.5V and test it, or consider going with 3600C14 if that works.

I also used 1.5 without any joy latency so far; the primary dropped to 63ns, TRIFI was at 14055, then when I went to 66666 the latency increased to 68ns.
