It's my first attempt at overclocking an i7 3820 to 4.3ghz. I won't bother adjusting the BCLK since I lack sufficient knowledge... yet.
The question I have is:
are VID and CPU VCORE different?
I use HWID and CPU-Z to check my VCORE.
In HWID, I see a max of 1.272, min 0.936 for VCORE and max 1.311V, min 1.036 for VID = They seem different. Is this normal? Is 1.311V too high?
In CPU-Z, I see a min of 0.968 and a max of 1.272 for Core Voltage. My idle temps are around 39-41°C, underload temps 69-73°C in games, and I'm in a warm room without AC, which is quite hot. I'm using a Hyper 212 CPU cooler, which I think isn't very effective?
Edit: I'm using offset. The system seems stable enough.

For that cooler, the temperatures appear consistent. In your country, what are the ambient air temperatures? Are you using both apps simultaneously or running them separately? Also, be sure to install the most recent BIOS update for your motherboard.

I'm not sure about my ambient air temperatures. Coming from Asia usually means a lot of hot areas, so using both at the same time is fine. That's not wrong. I'm hesitant to update my BIOS because a friend recently bricked his board. We used the same board and CPU.

CPU: Intel Core i7 3820 clocked @ 4.3ghz
Motherboard: ASUS P9X79
RAM: 8Gb of low profile 1333mhz RAM (changing to 32gb 1866 mhz soon)
SSD/HDD: 120gb of Sandisk SSD, 1tb of WD Blue 7200 rpm.
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb (Not OC'd, because I'm nervous
🙁)
PSU: Thermaltake Smart RGB 600w 80+ Bronze
Chassis: NZXT Lexa S Crafted Series (old chassis, might change later, but I like it)
OS: Windows 10 65 bit @ version 1903 (I need an update for 1909, maybe)

I might replace the CPU cooler and consider a higher-quality power supply unit.

I'm planning to change to a Corsair PSU but don't know what yet. Also planning on getting a 2060 on the cheap when the sales come (sales here are pretty insane, you just have to be the first one to buy it. LOL)
Could you recommend a CPU cooler? If I could stay with Air Cooling, I would but if not, I can go AIO.
Also, are those voltage fine?

I highly suggest opting for a 240 mm AIO or any compatible model for your case, along with a CX series PSU from Corsair. You might also consider Seasonic options. An 80+ gold rating is an excellent choice.

You might consider going AIO then.

The video definition represents the speed rating the CPU receives, indicating what your CPU prefers and serving as the voltage standard for your motherboard. The core voltage is the actual value being applied right now.

Is the CPU always required to obtain the VID? Does the voltage it seeks depend on your VCORE being higher than your VID? This might be causing confusion.
