First encounter with a roadblock on this route, Gigabyte Aorus Ultra DDR5 Z690 Mobo lacks power ports.
I’m setting up my first PC from scratch. It came with Mobo, a 13600k CPU, a Plat P41 2TB SSD PCIe NVMe M.2 drive, an RX 6700 Speedster SWFT 309 GPU, G.Skill Z5 16x2 RGB DDR5-6000 RAM, and an Enermax LIQMAX III ARGB 360 AIO. When I power it on, fans begin, the graphics card fans spin, and the RGB lights come on, but performance isn’t optimal. There’s no signal reaching the monitor (HDMI plug directly into the GPU), the keyboard doesn’t respond on any USB port in Mobo, the RGB LEDs don’t light up on the RAM sticks, there are flashing red indicators on the motherboard, and I’m seeing several error codes: c2, c4, 12, 54, 59, followed by c1 just before it restarts. The manual suggests these issues, but they don’t help pinpoint the cause. It keeps cycling until I turn off the power switch. I’ve tried re-seating the SSD, RAM, GPU, and fans—nothing fixed the codes. After updating BIOS, a small LED on the motherboard lit up, indicating a process started, but I’m unsure if it completed. None of the USB ports are supplying power, so I suspect the board itself might be faulty. I’ve looked through the manual for error descriptions, but they don’t match exactly. I contacted GIGABYTE support, but waited over an hour without a response. I’ve attached photos to help clarify what I did. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Please find the video I uploaded for reference. Thank you!
Your Z690 board requires a BIOS upgrade for the 13th generation processor.
Hi Brian, based on what you're showing and explaining in the video, it seems like a CPU issue might be present. If you've already updated the BIOS to support Intel 13th gen CPUs or can't do so, then the problem likely lies with the processor itself. Consider removing the CPU, examining the pads on the CPU and the pins in the socket using a magnifying tool, and reinserting it carefully. If everything looks correct, try reseating the CPU and see if it powers on. Also, if you can't update the BIOS, have you attempted using Q-Flash without the CPU installed? Let me know what you find. Good luck!
