You're dealing with the initial Alcatel One Touch Fire. The experience varies greatly depending on your choice. Skip the Indian-branded models with 128MB of RAM; you'll quickly notice the shortfall. A 256MB chip is just enough for a decent use, according to Mozilla's guidelines. I'm saying it's okay but not outstanding. Not every device receives the updates it promised. Some ZTE models released in the US and UK faced certain issues, and it's unclear if LG Fireweb has any fixes. The OTF has been improved and runs faster, with many updated versions available if you're interested. Keep in mind, the OTF can slow down after version 2.1 and onwards.
On the positive side, the commercial options are worth considering. You could find a Geeksphone Keon or Peak on eBay, which are top-notch for developers and come with solid support. If you're willing to invest more, ZTE Open C is a decent alternative, as is the Geeksphone Revolution—this is their first full commercial release supporting both FxOS and Android—and Mozilla Flame. For Android users, some devices like LG Optimus L5 or Sony Xperia models (shared by feherneoh on XDA) are solid choices.
