Man this was a PITA! After 2 hours of fiddling with code, packages, and compilers, i finnaly forced my broswer to use the system's H.264 codec instead of the internal one! Double the speed! Using gstreamer's codecs! NOW HTML5 is not AIDS and its awsome! No lag whatsoever!
Midori is a lightweight browser that functions perfectly. Edited: Wow, the Windows setup is huge at 36mb! The Debian version is only 1.5mb! Cheers to Linux dominance!
Midori is quite different from what you might expect. Gala uses window effects mainly for performance, not for bold visuals.
