I recently acquired some classic games I enjoy playing on Xbox 360 for my PC. I’m trying to run them in ultra settings at 4K on my high-resolution display, but nothing seems to work properly. The games I mentioned are Mercenaries 2, Tom Clancy’s Endwar, and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic.

Unless modifications are applied, you won't exceed the maximum resolution available. The same applies to wide screen compatibility. This explains why older titles run in windowed mode.

Occasionally you can boost the display quality by adjusting the game's configuration files. Some titles also allow higher resolutions via Cheat Engine, similar to what we achieved in FF13. If those options don’t work, the best you can do is run at 1920x1080 with 4xSGSSAA, which should provide smooth pixel interpolation and help with overall clarity.

KOTOR's performance at 1080p isn't perfect, and higher resolutions might cause issues. It seems even 1440p could be problematic, similar to how running Battlefront II at 4K distorts the interface.
