I rely on youtube-dlp for downloading YouTube clips. It can also fetch and embed the original thumbnail in the video file. Indeed, using mp3tag it shows a 1280x720 PNG image inside. But when I open it in Explorer or Total Commander with the large icon view, the embedded thumbnail doesn’t appear—only a new one is created automatically. Can this be forced to show the original? With the newest Windows 10 and using PotPlayer as the default player, it should work.

Codec used was Icaros. Configured to display embedded cover art thumbnails. After restarting the explorer and clearing the thumbnail cache, both TCMD and File Explorer began showing the embedded images.
