Hey everyone, I’m facing a strange problem with my UniFi AP 6 Lite. It used to connect through the wired uplink, but now it’s switching to mesh via another access point. It worked fine for a while, but during regular checks in Unifi Connect I noticed it stopped using the wired link and just stays isolated. I’ve got two other UniFi AC Lites that still work with wired connections. I tried disabling meshing in the AP settings, but that doesn’t help—it won’t connect through the wired link anymore. I’ve reset it to factory settings, tested the cables with a simple tester and the wall run, but everything shows no issues. I’m using a POE injector to keep my switch online, yet I can’t get the connection back. I haven’t touched the area—no climbing, no work done that could have damaged the cable. There’s only one thing I suspect: the AP’s Ethernet port might be faulty, so it gets power but not data. Anyone have suggestions or steps I should try? It’s frustrating because this is the newest AP and I’m getting such poor performance.

It would be best to share the issue on the Ubiquiti forums directly. Mention the community post when handling an RMA if needed.

I understand you talked about using a cable tester, but I’ve faced the same issue where a basic test suggested everything was okay. Then I removed the AP from the wall and connected it to the switch with a fresh patch cable, and it functioned properly. I’d suggest trying that approach first.

Consider changing two access points to test the situation. Replace the currently faulty AP with one that functions properly. Avoid altering any cables, PoE injectors, or similar components. If the same AP continues to have problems, the problem lies with that AP. If the previously problematic AP now works and the other one still has issues, the issue may be related to the cable, PoE injector, or switch.

Did you take it out and connect it directly to the switch or router, then test it? It seems like Ethernet isn’t working properly.

I noticed this thread quite late. It appears the problem has been unresolved for a while in the topology section of the frontend. The fix is to rely on your setup, disable meshing, and disregard the displayed content. Disappointing for such a costly product—though hopefully it functions as expected.
