Hey everyone! I'm excited to share my plans for capturing PC gameplay. I've got a 2560X1440 display and an R9 280X paired with an i5-4460, which is solid but might struggle in tougher games. I also have a laptop with an i5-3337U and no dedicated graphics. My goal is to record at 1440p at 60 FPS without much lag, if possible. I'm looking for affordable options under $150 and would really appreciate any recommendations on software or hardware. Setup guides would also be super helpful since I'm not sure about bitrate or codecs. Thanks!

OBS is compatible with various capture solutions. Elgato offers PCI capture cards, and the HD60 model is likely available for such setups.

Can your computer manage 60 frames per second at 1440p resolution without issues? You might want to check out Elgato.

At first I used Fraps-I and managed to record BF Bad Company 2 smoothly without any lag. Now I’m switching to Camtasia Studio 8—it’s a larger program, but it’s really powerful and straightforward to work with. Give it a shot!
