Looking for ways to obtain a DMG or installer for High Sierra? It seems tricky, especially on an actual Mac. Even in a High Sierra VM, downloading the installer image isn't possible with the current setup.

The only valid method to obtain a copy of MacOS is through the official app store on a Mac. For non-latest releases, it must have been downloaded earlier using your Apple ID, which will show up in the "Purchased" area. Beginning with Mojave, Apple removed these entries from that section. If you need an older version, you can look for a previous Mac or try alternative sources.

It's a frustrating experience trying to run Snow Leopard on a Mac Mini. I switched to High Sierra and had trouble getting it to work. Eventually, I found a VMware image and set everything up, but then stumbled upon Apple's guidance for older OS versions. After that, I resorted to using a third-party app from the App Store. Everyone seems upset with Apple for its policies, but this is just one of many issues!
