Find the right software to set up the Intel HD 630 graphics card on older Windows systems.
Windows 8.1 isn't officially backed by the 8th generation Intel line, so you might have to pull the installer contents and set up drivers manually or rely on the update that Windows should fetch. Versions prior to 10 often block the update service by design, though you can try an unofficial fix to let Windows Update function on unsupported chips. This solution hasn't been refreshed recently, but it could still be functional. https://github.com/zeffy/wufuc
I've been trying wufuc but it doesn't resolve the issue of updating drivers via Windows Update.
Sorry, what is the issue? You need to update drivers using WU? Just install the working ones and that should be enough. If you're worried these are outdated, consider they were recently updated a few years ago.
I looked up the information online and found that the graphic driver Intel provides is only compatible with Windows 10. Further research suggested modifying an inf file could allow installation on older versions, though the inf file for dev-3e92 doesn’t support Windows 8.1. Could you help me edit the inf file so it works on Windows 8.1?
I attempted it already, but it's just updating to Microsoft Basic drivers.
I didn't understand your request. Could you clarify what you mean?
Incorrect driver type detected. Download the zip file, unpack it, and locate the folder containing the inf file (it may be in a deep subdirectory). If no zip version exists, use the executable and 7zip to extract drivers from the .exe file (sometimes successful). If extraction fails, try Universal Extractor. If none of these work, proceed with the alternative method. Please note that experience with older systems is beneficial.
