Find a solution for installing the Intel UHD 630 driver on an 8th gen Intel CPU in Windows 10. The downloaded driver claims to meet the requirements, but your system doesn’t seem to satisfy them. Someone could help resolve this issue. Thanks!

Join the discussion boards. In addition to relying on the standard graphics card or consulting device manager for compatible options, you can move to Windows 10. If Windows 8 isn't available, it's best to upgrade; for Windows 8.1, you can upgrade to 10 at no cost. Personally, I think Windows 8.1 isn't great.

Consider using the Intel driver updater tool at https://www.intel.co.uk/content/www/uk/e...etect.html. Determine if your machine is an OEM or a home-built setup, as some OEM systems need official drivers rather than the standard Intel version. Another option is that a missing software component in 8.1 might be the cause—ensure it’s updated with the latest patches.

Thank you for your patience. The OEM Dell Optiplex 7060 comes with Ubuntu and is compatible with workstation software on Windows 8.1. However, occasionally it displays messages from Windows indicating unsupported hardware from Intel 7th generation processors. I have downloaded the Intel updater, but the driver isn’t functioning properly—it indicates this processor type isn’t supported.

Search for a compatible driver from Dell's downloads for your system. Dell has traditionally needed their drivers, and Intel drivers haven't worked before. I believe the latest versions should support Intel now, though I don't remember when that changed.

Intel's website is quite confusing, making it hard to locate information. It's recommended to search for the proper driver for Windows 8 using Google. While the Intel site still contains drivers, they are likely easier to find now. It seems Google performs better on the Intel site than on their own platform.

I checked the available information and found no driver listed for Windows 7, 8, or 8.1. The only options mentioned are for Windows 10. You can view the referenced link for more details.

This means almost nothing. You should still be able to use it. It seems like Microsoft doesn’t pay attention to key updates. Smile
