You should link the pin from the case front panel to the dedicated button there. This button controls the case's RGB lighting features. Since you previously connected it before, but now it doesn't work after sending the PC for repair, double-check the wiring. The SATA cable from the front panel is already connected and functioning, so focus on the RGB controller connections. For your setup—Rog Maximus Z690 with a fan controller—ensure the pin matches the controller's requirements; if not visible, consider using a MOBO or Cougar controller as alternatives.
You could install it on the motherboard if available. It should also work with the Cougar Controller.
It doesn't connect to the motherboard. It's a switch. It connects to some side of the controller and allows switching of the RGB modes on the controller. I've found this diagram for a cougar core v3 that might be of use.
They likely switched out the controller. It seems there’s no space for that connector except on this unit. Do you understand why the PC needed fixing and were you informed of the specific changes made? Which type of case holds the controller?
