Find the optimal method for setting up drivers for "Other devices" motherboard.
Hello! You're facing a common issue when updating drivers for newer Windows versions on older hardware. Since the ASRock drivers are outdated (2019) and tied to Windows 10, you'll need a more reliable source. Consider using the official Intel drivers or downloading them from reputable third-party sites that support Windows 11. If you want, I can guide you through the steps to get the correct drivers for your setup. Let me know!
Do you have Windows updates turned on? It's a bit unexpected that Windows wouldn't be able to install drivers on its own for such an old board. Download and install any relevant drivers from the site, choosing versions for Windows 11 if they exist (there appear to be only a few). Running Windows 10 drivers should generally work fine unless that's the sole option. Another possibility: Do you have an original driver installation disc with the board? Although they would be quite outdated now, they might still get everything running smoothly. Once you have the necessary drivers, save them for easier use in the future.
It seems Windows Update usually grabs the right drivers for most of them. If it fails, older drivers might still work just fine.
Sorry about the old post—I've been occupied. I've saved drivers from ASRock's site while I was at it. My question seems to be whether it's preferable to get Intel drivers from Intel versus the motherboard maker, and similarly for Realtek. I suspect I've already tested this; it sometimes works, other times not. Perhaps some makers use their own device IDs? Also, I think that for certain boards, Windows Update might not automatically install Intel chipset drivers. What have you experienced with this?
