He currently uses an 8GB Corsair XMS3 stick with specific specs, so compatibility depends on matching those parameters. You don’t necessarily need all three details to be identical—just ensure the speed and timing align. A newer 8GB DDR3 1333MHz stick should work, though it may run slower than his current setup. He can proceed with a similar model for now without breaking the bank.

Perfectly fitting the exact stick kit to the model is ideal, though it doesn't always work with their XMP settings. To avoid issues, it's better to sell the existing unit and purchase a 16GB alternative.

Ensure you include at least DDR3 memory. You might opt for a faster clock speed beyond 1333mhz, but timing must remain consistent. Otherwise, adjust manually to match. It’s best to use the same model or at least one that matches both specs.

It looks like that specific stick isn’t available anymore. Selling it doesn’t seem worthwhile. Who would be interested in an old DDR3 stick? It wasn’t very good even when it was new. So, should you look for any 8GB DDR3 1333MHz or faster stick with 9-9-9-24 timings? Does the CAS latency matter?

Cas must match for proper functioning, especially in dual channel.

Sure, it should function the same otherwise. It will automatically adjust to 1333MHz.

The schedule varies. Aim for 9,9,9,24

Check if you're viewing the correct option. The link should display 9-9-9-24.

When you navigate to the shops, it shows up as CL11. It’s not a major issue since it runs faster. CL11 at 1600 is nearly identical to CL9 at 1333.
