I've seen many videos and read several articles, but this setup still feels unclear to me... I'm putting together a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, 5700 XT GPU, and an SATA HDD with 16GB RAM (two 8GB sticks). Since I can't afford a huge budget, I'm curious about the impact of swapping faster RAM for slower options. I understand I could invest more to get 3600 MHz RAM at 16-19-19-39 speeds. The numbers you mentioned seem confusing—they're likely showing potential gains versus losses. Could you share your thoughts on this $1000 PC gaming build? Should I try stretching the budget further for better 3600 MHz RAM, or stick with 3200 MHz at lower speeds?

Varies by project, especially for memory-intensive applications which may see around a 1% drop in performance. The main improvements usually stem from increased frequency settings. You shouldn't typically use 3200MHz unless it's a Crucial model since Micron owns it and only offers one die (Micron Rev.E) capable of exceeding 2933MHz with the standard memory profile. Also, you're likely using similar dies across different 3600MHz packages from Hynix or Micron, so consider adjusting CL16 kits to CL18 with a slight voltage increase.

I don’t feel the need to interfere with the Infinity Web. I’ve seen tutorials, but they seem too advanced for what I’m looking for. I’m aiming for a reliable, consistent setup. Which one would you prefer—16-based 3200 or 18-based 3600? (no changes to Infinity Web)

It's even more problematic, as Infinity Fabric is enabled by default and operates at half the memory data rate until 3600MHz.
