Find pictures of particular products on a computer.
I've been scanning about 10+ years of photo prints onto my NAS (RAID 5). I have about 1TB in the one directory. Each photo is around 2MB.
I'm trying to find photos of a specific topic, i.e., automobiles. The pix are scanned in using a Fujitsu fi7160 in batches by developed date. Each batch has between 18 and 36 photos.
Is there a search method or software that could search just for automobiles?
Unless the particular image files carry metadata labeled as "automobile", it doesn't apply.
Alternatively, unless you're interested in using the AI for your entire dataset, you might consider that approach.
Yes, you can rely on these services, such as Google Photos, Adobe Lightroom or Apple Photos, which help identify and locate items like cars automatically. They employ image recognition to categorize and index photos based on content, allowing searches with terms like “car” or “vehicle”. You must upload the images, and indexing may take time for large collections, but once complete, searching becomes quick and precise.
I managed to locate the pictures I needed. Now I'll move on to scanning the remaining thousands.
